TASTING NOTES -

Grown at over 2,600 feet elevation amidst the rocky terrain of the Sierra Foothills, this single-vineyard Barbera helps bring the spectacular red Aiken volcanic soils of the site into focus. A medley of spiced red berries, black plums, licorice, cherry pits, wet slate, and savory herbs melds into a provocative palate full of dynamic fruits and mineral-laced tannins. The finish reinforces the terroir of the vineyard, as notes of warm earth mingle with spiced cherries, all wrapped in a scarlet veil of acidity that can only come from grapes born at altitude.
