Home Wine Dinners

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REVERIE’S HOME WINE DINNERS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR REQUEST

Interested in Hosting a Reverie Home Wine Dinner?

Across the country - Reverie’s Home Wine Dinners have been a big hit. Our customers have proven over and over again that they go “all out for Reverie.” No matter where we travel (and we’ve been to almost every state), we find that our customers are anxious to introduce us to their friends and are excited to host a Reverie event. Each dinner has its own unique “flavor,” but each one has this common theme: good food, fun friends, and, of course, great Reverie Wine.

How does it Work?

During the cold and rainy season, Reverie closes for a period over the holidays, and then, opens for limited days on the weekends. During the spring, we travel around the country and take the “show on the road.” Our carefully selected customers host dinner parties at their homes (occasionally inside their country clubs), and Reverie is the featured wine. Rather than cooking the meal, typically, a host will use his/her own chef or caterer, and the food is served in a coursed format so everyone stays on the same schedule—please, no buffet-style meals. We ask that you please try to have high quality wine glasses, i.e., very thin, highly breakable, tall, clear, undecorated, and with stems. But, don’t worry; you do not need to have a new glass per person for each new course of food. Of course, we’ll make our own travel arrangements, and a Reverie representative will fly out to the event and pour our wine throughout the dinner (basically, it’s like our traditional wine tour at the vineyard, but instead, it’s in your own home). Since we travel to the event and pour wines at Reverie’s expense, we ask that you strategically invite wine-loving, “wine-buying” types of friends—then, it’s a win/win for everyone. Since we do not distribute our wines around the country, this is a great way to introduce us to your friends. You might be a regular to the Napa area, but it’s not often that you can get 20-40 of your wine-loving friends to come with you. So, Reverie, your favorite little winery on Diamond Mountain, will come to you!

I’m the Host…do I need to purchase wine at my own event?

Yes, although we definitely appreciate the time, effort, and expense that you will go to when you host a dinner, we have a huge investment in each event. We ask that each host make a personal purchase of at least one case at the dinner (two cases if you co-host with another couple, etc.) But, besides your purchase, a very important key to a successful Reverie Home Wine Dinner is to strategically think about whom you will invite. Not everyone appreciates big, red wines, or, has the likelihood of purchasing cases of wine. We do not hard sell anyone at these dinners, but we do offer our order forms during the final course and have high expectations for sales. Our best sales events have been when the hosts have invited red wine-loving guests, who, most likely, could make a substantial purchase. Keep in mind, this is not a regular dinner party - it’s a private wine-tasting and sales event for Reverie Wine. Your personal purchase will send a positive message to your guests, especially if you take an active approach with everyone during the dinner. This is a great opportunity for them to purchase cases of wines at 10% percent off and/or enjoy 15% off their wines by joining one of our yearly wine clubs. Then, it’s a win/win for everyone. You, and your guests, will have had a Napa Valley estate winery come to your home. We will have poured a substantial amount of our small, limited production wines during dinner. Everyone will have had a wonderful, memorable evening, and Reverie will have made a lot of new customers.

What will I be charged if I need to cancel my Reverie Home Wine Dinner?

We understand that sometimes it’s absolutely necessary to cancel an event. Contact us immediately if this is your situation. We have many costs associated with each dinner that most likely cannot be recovered. We purchase our airline tickets, hotels, rental cars, and ship our pouring wines well in advance. Our event calendar and employees’ schedules are based on your decision to host. Other events could have been turned down because of our commitment to you. NOTE: If you cancel your event prior to us processing and/or shipping your pouring wines, we do not ask you for any fees to recover our travel expenses, etc., but, if your pouring wines have already been processed and/or shipped, we ask you to purchase those wines to help defray some of our costs. We will not charge you for the shipping, and of course, if you are a Club Member, you would receive your 15% discounted rate.
